I think it's better for punk bands to have a singer who just sings-like the ramones, the sex pistols,the vandals,the germs,desendents or black flag. That way the singer gets to do more front man-ish stuff which works awesome for punk.

I think for the same reason El Hefe sings "Eat the Meek". Its too hard to play and sing at the same time.
