@Hatesmonkeys666 No, I own both of Necrophagist's releases. They're good as I said. They just get rather boring after a while. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that they only have two releases...... regardless Wintersun only has one and I've been listening to it since the start, and I'm STILL not bored of it. I do consider Meshuggah good, and I consider a select few Metallica songs good. However I think Kirk sucks as a lead guitarist, so don't kid yourself.

SoP is definitly more technically complex then necro. I would even go as far to say they are a step beneath Obscura, but that would only be in solos. Muhammad only uses like 2 techniques in all his solo, his vocabulary is so limited.

@parquar Very nice list - finally I see someone else who likes the Cold solo as much as I do. Other songs I think that are deserving are Bird/Serpent War by Symphony X, Ghost Prototype I by Scar Symmetry, Hollowheart by Kalmah, Abduction by Bruce Dickinson, Felonies of the Christian Art by Old Man's Child, Beware the Beast by Firewind, and Silverwing by Arch Enemy.
