Taliban warns Obama of Afghan bloodshed - 1 Feb 09

Mullah Mohamad Rasul, a Taliban leader who survived the US military operation in Afghanistan in 2001, meets Al Jazeera in the tribal regions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

He says that the Taliban are getting ready for a new battle, and that boosting US forces in Afghanistan will only lead to more bloodshed.

No one has ever succeeded to conquer Afghanistan. Even the Russians acknowledged their will power and strength. The Russians warned the Americans not to underestimate the Afghans.

And it looks like they just did.

It’s a matter of time before they kill President Karzai and take back there country. Dick Cheney can say goodbye to his Caspian oil pipe. And the pharmaceutical companies can say goodbye to there opium.

Perhaps the USA have what they wanted, but they won’t have Afghanistan.
