What is a copywriter's job in making an ad?

@spuddypwnerthesecond A copywriter and art director get together and conceive the entire ad together (bounce ideas off of each other) when they're satisfied with what they have, the writer goes off and figures out headlines and/or dialogue and the art director figures out pictures and type.

To answer your earlier question, the man in the room is an art director and the woman is the writer.

They were actually working on the spot that was being filmed in the second episode.
