  • Oops, full break starts at 1:05. :I:

  • Thank you for the pic. You can see why Motley was Frank ‘Two Trumpeter’ Motley.

Originally on Big Town #116, recorded OCT 1954. Cover of the Jerry Leiber-Mike Stoller original (Hound Dog) first done by Big Mama Thornton, recorded 13 AUG 1952 (L.A., CA). King Herbert Whitaker does the tenor sax work, break (1:15). Frank Pelly may be the drummer.

Blues singer Curley Bridges could play piano, trombone, and drums as well.

Play pal is Snatch It, instrumental w/ King Herbert sax. :I:

  • un titre fantastique, des arrangement New Orleans d'enfer...Inoubliable !

  • Killer R&B Jive Screamin' Shouter! Haven't heard this wailer before! I must locate a copy now!

  • Jan 15 2011 Curley Bridges, who rearranged this Big Mama Thornton R&B hit, and sang lead vocals, is STILL alive and KICKIN' it up in Canada! As a matter of fact, TODAY is his 77th birthday, and he is giving a show TONIGHT at The Silver Dollar Saloon in Toronto, Ontario. He has been living in Barrie, Ontario for the last 30 years, and his NEW recordings are available on the Electro-Fi label. HAPPY BIRTHDAY CURLEY.....and THANKS for being an example for us geezers to KEEP ON PUSHIN!!!

  • This Awesome arrangement is the work of the man behind Frank, Curly Bridges, and we know where this song went two years by a certain white boy....:) Motley Crew said it first

  • can i state that the title of this group was STOLEN by some white boys that make stupid noise with makeup and lipstick on HINT ...

  • I was very fortunate to have known Frank when he retired to Durham, N.C. I jammed with him numerous times and he gave me some lessons, too! He was a great guy and a one-of-a-kind musician. You're missed, Frank!

  • Great stuff!
