Not only am i going to do that but i will start helping the poor myself, getting out there, doing the dirty work that Jesus calls us to do. Just like Ehud did in Judges3

It is the same way I've felt since I became a Christian. Maybe not their philosophies, but heck with gay marriage, support those who need it, who are in poverty, both in America and in other parts of the world.

It was the message of the ELCA Youth Gathering this year. They had Tony Campolo and Jim Wallis there, it just seemed to come from their messages a lot.

Ah, I see. While I wasn't at the conference, I read alot of Jim Wallis' stuff and others from Sojourners, so there's no doubt a common influence.

Thanks Yanks. I agree with you, but I also believe that we're making some serious headway. One of the most exciting things I'm seeing in the church these days is the emerging social conscience of the younger generation. I see a big shift in focus from internal, program driven efforts to more acts of outward service, compassion and social justice.
