Connecting a wireless xbox 360 controller

How to connect a wireless controller to your xbox 360, firstly press the smallest button on the front of your xbox 360 to start searching for controllers nearby (to show that your xbox is seaching for wireless controllers the 4 green lights at the front will flash in a clockwise rotation). Now turn on your xbox 360 wireless controller, if you are connecting the controller to your xbox for the first time, its 4 green lights will also flash like the xbox 360. Now press the button on top of the controller which will connect the controller to the xbox 360 wirelessly.

The buttons you have to press all are located to a symbol like this )))

mine 2nd controller just has all 4 lights blinking and won't connect. Do you have to add it in the menu or something?
