Today our intrepid reporter Michael Wigge explores the differences between Eastern and Western Germans to find out what die-hard stereotypes and prejudices about Easties and Westies still exist nearly 20 years after the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
Yes, 'it wasn't perfect', but paying just a little more attention than the fast pace of the footage leaves room for and thinking back about how, 'just a few years ago, would've been impossible to even tie them together', you get to feel at full scale the significance of the 'side-by-side' experience and the value of passing this border in such a careless and joyful way being available today. Tremendous realities wrapped up in a childish (dis-)play how wonderful can freedom feel!
