Lovely production. I wish, ther would be more like that. Here, at Germany, every new production is twisted into something unrecognizable from the original script.. Awful!

I also think she is excellent as Elisabeth.
She sang also both Elsa and Ortrud at the MET. Marton has benn always one of my favourite sopranos. I have never seen her on stage. In concert I heard her once in 2004, but she was already beyond her best days...

I think she made an excellent Elisabeth, how about you? I liked her Elsa, as well--her large voice was suitably lyric and gentle when needed. And as Elisabeth and Elsa, her emotions (especially her tears) were seemed beautifully sincere.

Listen to those overtones! Cassilly and Weikl are in excellent form here. Congratulations to the other soloists and, of course, to the orchestra and Maestro Levine.

Au moins ça c'est de la mise en scène.
Dommage Cassily est un peu en deça.

That bloody horn call at 4:25 is a ripping bastard to pull off!!!!
