@youngandwreckless22 just like Ruffian :D after the sedative wore off Ruffian, she started racing in her mind again. That's why they had to put her down. Such wonderful animals these horses are! Got to admire their spirit and determination to finish the race and get the job done!

Not all people are like that, infact there are very few. I take that offensive. Most thoroughbred owners love and adore their horses, yes its sad for the ones who only do care about the money but you're saying they all are like that!

where did u get the pic at 2:29 i love it

As has been stated many times, thoroughbred horses are born and bred to RACE. That is what they LOVE to do. Just look at some of the videos of retired racehorses and how they run and run and run in their retirement "homes". Great racehorses KNOW they are "rock stars". They understand, and respond to, the attention they get from the media and race fans. Horses are not DUMB animals. Tragedies happen in EVERY sport, regardless of the participants, human or animal.

That's enough! Justifying a sport where we use animals to make ourselves bundles of cash... pushing theses animals beyond their physical limits and BREAK their bones...but then belittle it and say "just an accident" and there's no need to feel remorseful and apologetic towards the pain they experience directly because of our greed? Makes my stomach sick! Shameful

Some absolutely ridiculous comments in here from people who don't know a damn thing about horse racing, including the owners, trainers, jockeys, and horses. "Apologize" for WHAT? An accident that happens a few times a year during the THOUSANDS of horse races that are run every year around the world? Go get a JOB, or do something that is USEFUL.

@Cosmeticsx True, you definitely have a point there. Horse racers should start training later, so that the horses are full-grown and their bones are where they belong. Riding a horse that young must be stopped, but that really is the only change I would make to horse racing. The rest is truly the horses enjoying what they do and having fun. They just need to grow up a bit more first. :)
