  • I know this may sound unoriginal, but what I take away from this course as the most important and useful is GOPST. Maybe we did spend a bit too much time on it (2 classes is more than enough), but actually used this information in my other courses (like CCT205 - Digital Innovation and Cultural Transformation) which makes me feel like it's useful information that is applicable to the real world. Now, GOPST is something I use to plan out my own personal endeavours.

  • thanks - i have the perspective of having former students email me to say "keeping working on teaching this" cause they always find out in the real world how important GOPST is, thanks for your support Jessie

  • My favourite topic discussed in this course was the way we are using technology to replicate human experiences. This goes as far as the Internet itself becoming used as another social dimension we would otherwise experience in real life, with the difference of asynchronous time for most websites or networks like blogs, and minus the geographical factor. Also, i loved the interesting fact that one of the first examples of Mass outsourcing was the British Empire commissioning priates!

  • technology to replicate human experiences - ya, glad you picked up on that, it has been a driving force for many things and if you understand this principle you can almost predict new technologies - which at a minimum would allow you to chose which IPOs to invest in eh

  • The most important tip that I learned from this course was that developing a system for micropayments is the best way to become rich in the future. My group presented on a new home alarm system that can be activated or de-activated from your cellphone. It was nice to know that you thought it can be a real world application. It has been a pleasure taking your course.

  • I also benefited a lot from the online readings on domain names. It is very important to keep the name of your website short, easy to read and easy to remember.

  • I enjoyed the lesson we had on SWOT analysis and GOPST too. SWOT analysis is just as important as GOPST is. In order to set your GOPST right you first need to know your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. If you lack an understanding on the things you are good at, things you are bad at, things you could benefit from, and things that could stand in your way, then you’ll find it awfully hard to set your GOPST right.

  • GOPST is a great method to help us break down the task, especially in the future career. Another thing is that this course enlarges my vision about e-business. what I thought about E-business before is just a small part of it. In this field, there are thousands of potential opportunities for us to explore. The most important thing is that I realize that I can do more than I thought before. The awareness of opportunity and ability to achieve it are the most important things. MGD415 Sarah Lu

  • I forgot to mention my name and course number: Trisha Arocena, MGD415 UTM.

  • This course definitely stood out amongst other courses in this semester. I learned a lot of new and significant information, which I trust will help and benefit me somewhere along my career path. One particular topic that I enjoyed the most is the one about Biometrics. I'm fascinated with the new and improved technologies that many organizations are now garnering as a means to accomodate with specific business strategies. (i.e. face recognition for database input).

  • once you can see and listen. There were a few things that I found interesting. One is GOPST as mentioned numerous times. I found it to be useful not only in 415, but for other classes as well. It is a great tool to use to outline your train of thoughts in order to accomplish a particular task. The section on domain names was interesting, especially the introduction of new TLDs such as .mobi, This opens new avenues businesses can look at as more individuals use smartphones. • Looking back at MGD415 there were a few things that I found useful and interesting. First I found the wtgr site to be very useful, as it provided many tips to help guide our experience in the class. I found the tips section on how to study and write tests, as well as the tips on how to approach our GOPST assignment. I also found the supplementary videos on important concepts on the site to be very useful, as it is one thing to read it but it becomes easier to understand Premraj P MGD415 1/2

  • Since many of my colleagues decided to talk about the GOPST analysis, I will try to have a more "original" response and talk about what we have learned about scams in this class. It is very interesting how as scams get more complex and sophisticated, more elements of the truth are needed to create a better scam. Such is the case when we talked about "Spear Phishing" and "Social Engineering" in class. The prof's credit card theft stories were also very useful to know.

  • I also submitted this as a video response, but just to reiterate I think that learning the GOPST analysis is invaluable. It is something students will apply after they have graduated if they want to start a business also it helps them critically analyze business proposals.

  • I love Prof.Richardson`s strategic thinking and vast knowldge applied troughout the course content on ebusiness tech.My take away from the course is the most foundatitional piece, GOPST. However, the learning about how to approach projects and use frameworks such as GOPST doesn`t stop.Along with GOPST, I learned a lot of useful tips on online security, trends and gadgets, domain names and looking forward to the group presentation.
