http://foxeema.blogspot.com/ William Pearl gets the bad news from his doctor: he only has a month to live.
Dr. Landy says he can keep William's brain alive in a glass jar, after his body is dead.public domainWay Out is a 1961 fantasy and science fiction television anthology series hosted by horror writer Roald Dahl. The macabre 30-minute shows are bookended by Dahl's dry delivery of a brief introductory monologue, usually explaining a method of murdering a spouse without getting caught. The taped series began because CBS suddenly needed a replacement for a short-lived Jackie Gleason talk show that network executives were going to cancel and producer David Susskind contacted Dahl to help mount a show quickly. The series was paired by the network with the similar The Twilight Zone for Saturday evening broadcasts, running from March to July 1961. .

  • Thanks for posting! what a great find!

  • If you're really interested in (or a fan of) "Way Out", there is a great Filmfax Magazine Article on the series: Go to roaldDahlfans, click on TV SHOWS (it's on the left side), click on WAY OUT then look under FUN STUFF. The article is good reading & the Episode guides give a synapses for all 14 episodes (be warned, though, they DO give away the endings). If you've never read these you should find it quite interesting. For those who've actually seen the episodes, it'll be a nostalgic trip.

  • I just wanted everyone to know I have begun a petition to get this cool series released on DVD (or Blu Ray)

You can find the link on the "Way Out" (1961) board on IMDb

If anyone likes these shows, feel free to link to the petition and sign in. All the 14 episodes DO exist and would make an awesome series. I am posting this on all 5 episodes here.

    Thanks

  • @linkone11 6:48 he did another one in the missle silo [ something like damnation alley]

  • wow this is the first time ive heard roald dahl talk

  • I remember Fritz Weaver (Dr. Landy) was in the The Crate, an episode from Creepshow 1.

  • omg...what a find

    didnt dahl hate tv?

  • You'd probably have to journey to the Paley Center For Media in New York or Los Angeles to see them, 'Franzi', as all 14 episodes are on deposit there.

  • henry jones was the handyman in "The Bad Seed"

  • would love to see all 14 episodes of Way Out!!!
