Your right they used Helen Kane's singing style.
although Helen did not do the singing for the Betty Boop Cartoon's, instead they used imitators, like Margie Hines for example or Ann Rothschild ;). its great to see someone able to play the actual song on a guitar, i remember when someone played barnacle bill on a guitar before.
