I agree it's inaccurate to refer to ELF as "terrorists", but what you people don't realize is that your fires generate an enormous amounts of pollution, and most times,these places are just rebuilt. And insurance companies aren't exactly quivering with apprehension about developing land because of you. Also, ELF is always a convienient strawman to be used against environmental alarmists, and strawmen are ALWAYS helpful - just a sad fact of life.

I somewhat agree about the shortcomings of these tactics. It has also been argued that the security measures involved in this type of action require a remarkable degree of specialisation, which prevents the insurrectionary spirit and action from spreading and generalizing. I wouldn't want to talk in terms of "you" and "we": couldn't this tactic and discussion be seen as a living experiment in our common struggle? But how can you blame the ELF if someone uses it as a strawman?

And there's always a human person responsible for these decisions - probably an average worker that either identifies more with the Corporation (or State or Church or whatever blend of mastery she feels proud to serve) than with bare life; or he decides, perhaps a bit reluctantly, to comply with superior's orders rather than lose his precious job. To add a bit of historical insight: such attitudes and choices were key ingredients in accomplishing the holocaust.

You can't stop atrocities by committing more atrocities. The environmental disaster plaguing our world is not going to be solved by a bunch of people burning down buildings. If anything, that just makes people hate radical environmentalism.

The world is not going to be saved by some organized revolution by a small group of people. It can only come about if everyone makes a personal decision to be more environmentally friendly and to withdraw from consumer culture.

and now , the truck needs a repaint , or junked . the houses need (and will ) be rebuilt . the tractor trailer will be junked and replaced .......there is more damage to the earth in this video than i have done to the earth in my lifetime .........this is like when the USA was mad at the french , and was smashing wine on the street . 6 months later there where even bigger orders for french wine to replace the ones smashed

"Natural and necessary?" So, burning down big homes in Seattle is natural and necessary? MLK didn't need this type of action, and he changed the world with nothing more than a dream. ELF suffers from a lack of imagination. Go non-violent and make a difference.
