  • My Mom just got Fired yesterday over bullshit reasons and bogus claims. It was really because of her age. She worked for Brookdale living for 14 years, you don't work somewhere that long if you're a really shitty worker. They'll probably hire someone younger who they don't have to offer any benifits to and can pay less. My mom had been a very hard and very dedicated worker only to get shit on by the company she worked so hard for. I know it was due to her age, even though she is fine healthwise

  • i am sorry that your mom got fired. as you are aware, she is not alone. i wish her good luck and hope she will find someplace that appreciates her hard work.

  • I took a Human Resources course at our local community college. We were actually taught legal ways to NOT hire those over the age of 45. (i.e. "While it is illegal to ask an applicant his/her age during the interview process, you can look at the high school/college graduation dates to determine if the applicant will be a liability to your establishment.") This made me sick.

How can we say America is a country of values??

  • Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately this is all too common.

  • society is pushing away our wisdom.

  • GETTING OLD IS A GOOD THING. I am 22 and look forward to the day when I am all gray and old and I can look at my grand kids and look back on my life at the age of 65-onwards. I don't want to look the same image being young forever I would go nuts, I embrace aging and look forward to when I get old wrinkly and Gray, it is a good thing.

  • I WANT TO GET OLD AND GRAY ONE DAY. Why live forever, far out if I die at the age of 90, far out that would be long enough for me. Why do people find aging such a bad thing, it is a good thing. I am 22 and look forward till the day comes when I am 65 and I can look back on life, just an amazing thing that would be to know I have done so much with my life and now I can sit back and remember the good times. Aging is A GOOD THING, embrace aging, why stay the same image forever, I want to age...

  • I got canned at my job just as I was to turn 50. Nice guys, huh ?? After almost 4 years of being unemployed, applying to over 500 jobs not leading to a thing, last year, I said screw it. I quit looking. Between my depression, panic attacks, anger, rage, etc., I am trying to get disability. It's my only hope at this point. If that doesn't work, I'm probably just going to go off in a corner somewhere and end end this nightmare. I hate what corporates are allowed to get away with. It sucks.

  • I think ageism seems to happen overnight like noticing that cute little puppy dog is now an older dog.

Aesthetics seems to be the driving force of all life in any setting.

Ppl generally aspire and are allured to the objective reality.

Mostly rooted in desire. Shiny ppl and shiny things that give them the facade that they think will make them look skiny. Whether its concerning social or marketability

Surrounded yourself with better ppl who are more evolved and in tune with life.

  • Age discrimination is against the law, why is this not being mentioned anywhere ?

  • @PatriciaSahertian Thank you. I appreciate that. I am just doing the only thing I can do and that is to expose a ccompany becomming notorious for age discrimination Brookdale Living they own assisted living facilities all across America and nursing homes too. They fired all the older worker at all their facilities now, my mom was the last to just get fired because of age. I've lost hope that she get any luck, in this terrible economy at her age, an she can not afford to retire or be out of work.

  • i've come across ageism in my business.

    i'm a 62 year old singer and it's tough...

why not check out my new video...hit on gypwin....many thanks
