vimacs just pulled a recent image for his pandora dev unit; xfce is the desktop manager and window manager, and its running the latest libpnd for auto-discovery and job launching.

  • What if you eject the SD card while the Pandora is turned off/hibernated or standby?

  • When you log in, it does a discovery run (ie: to remove old .desktops and create any new that are magicly available.) A hibernate/suspend may play with it, but if so we just have to add another event catch in there. (We're still fiddling with that stuff actually)

For pmenu (or other launchers that use libpnd direct), they can handle it as they see fit; libpnd provides handy code to do the discovery scan, and they can just call it as they see fit, or switch on notifications or whatever.
