I was in my freshman year in high school (1960) when I first heard this song. Had a hard time looking around record bars in Manila before I got a 45 rpm record. Nope, I don't remember finding this in Paul's numerous albums so I bet my 45 rpm copy is a rarity...must be a treasure now.

is no where included in his "I've Gotta Be Me" 3-CD 45 songs. How I ironic and disappointing it is.

still remember this song like me . Yes, so am I, I
was in my elementary grade graduating . Thinking
we will be parting away after graduation It made me felt so sad. In Fact it took me decades to hear this song again. Ironically I have Paul Anka's " I've gotta to me" CD'S consisting of 45 of his songs

Many years ago there was a TV show called "Juke Box Jury" hosted by Al Jarvis. A celebrity panelists would vote on new records. Paul Anka sang this song, and it got a very luke warm response...Julie London was on the panel and she didn't like it at all, thought the word "Verboten" was just not in the teen-age vocabulary and that kids could not relate to it. That was the first and last time I heard this song!
