Gene Austin could really sing these gorgeous ballads. His recordings of sweet old songs are the BEST. His voice was neither too high or too low - - just right. His "Garden in the Rain" is absolutely beautiful. Love his voice and the background music from this era. Tommy

Thanks for this listing - I like the old songs and this one in particular as I am currently learning it on the accordion. I hope to soon be able to play it well enough to list. cheers

This was one of the first 78's I listened to as a kid. It was from my mother's collection. Thanks for posting. It brings back great memories.

It meant a lot to me to hear this. I was named after this "show tune" in 1946 but never actually heard it. I was shown the sheet music but no one in the family had a piano! I was made fun of as a child because of my uncommon name and only learned to appreciate it as an adult. I've always wondered about this song...and now I know! Thanks.
