  • The original version is from the album "Berlin", so... this is not the original version...

  • @kotomba

I dont think I ever said this was the original version......

  • album version better, this its too lively lllllll

  • @888edward888

This is an album version. One of them anyway.

He recorded this song on two different albums using two different styles.

  • Its definitely not the album version.the album version has an special intro that this version doesnt and the lyrics are a bit different.

  • Ok, which "album" are you referring to?

The album titles "Lou Reed" by Lou Reed is the cd that i got this track off of.

Here is a link to where you can listen to a sample of it:

  • your all a bunch of disrespectful you punks. reed is a legend, his music changed the times. fuck all of you.

  • This is the original version 'cause it's from Lou Reed's first album (1972). He also did it at the Bataclan club in Paris for the acoustic gig with John Cale & Nico (recently released officially, it was a bootleg for decades). Then he did Transformer (November 1972), then Berlin (July 1973). So, even if this is not from the Berlin album & it has a different arrangement, it's still OBVIOUSLY the original version 'cause it was recorded almost 2 years before the Berlin album.

    Thanks for the post

  • Someboy on the Metallia Lulu video told me to listen to this. My ears have now been raped further.

  • every comment is stating if this is or isnt the original, who cares its bloody shite. i only clicked it because he said the Metallica Colab album is a cross between berlin and master of puppets.. im so unhappy now :(

ok since i typed it all i heard the guitar work n thats pretty good but i really hate his voice he cant sing

  • @kotomba Actually the original is from his 1972 album "Lou Reed" Which i believe is this.

  • @addman27 Yeah - it's supposed to be a weak album because we now know the Velvet Underground versions of most of the songs, but I always thought it was a good album. And overlooked - how many people here had NO IDEA the first version of "Berlin" was this one and arguing, saying "this is not the original version"? Kind of pissed me off. lol

  • @kotomba Actually this IS the original version. He recorded it on his self-titled solo debut and re-recorded it for Berlin. So you're wrong.

  • I love this version too. Less morose, a bit more hopeful.
