because he is like a thursday's chid, i mean, he played new wave when people was still listening old wave, he invented punk when all people was glam, moreover, I must say, Trasformer is timeless, a masterpiece, a great work with someone like Bowie (retro in the end of Satellite of love -amazing) and Ronson played guitar.
And never forget songs like Vicious, Perfect day, Walk on the wild side...Lou can say that it's just an album, but he wrong. Trasformer is his masterpiece.

Lou Reed was 'Punk' when most were Hippies, in the mid-60s, long before Glam. Mick Ronson didn't just do all the great guitars of Transformer, but also piano, strings arrangements, backing vocals, production. Transformer was a hit, and his most accessible album, a great Rock album, but Berlin is unique, a literary and musical masterpiece, much deeper and original, undoubtedly his highest achievement. Rock&Roll Animal, Coney Island Baby, Sally Can't Dance are all classics

Oh man. Love this song, but there's a live version on Rock and Roll Diary that's just piano, and it's got that "Glancing at the face of God" quality.
