  • I always wondered why 12 o'clock high was never out on DVD. There must be some reason.

  • @recordman64 you're right, Hank Simms did the announcements on the syndicated 12 O'Clock High trailers for scenes to upcoming episodes. Simms also worked on The Invaders

  • @918ramrod

Thanks for adding that. Wow the Invaders. Now I can recall that one vaguely, I was a kid. What did that last? A few seasons. Something about the aliens had a longer forefinger?

  • @gmt3010 I have all 78 episodes of 12 O'Clock High recorded to dvd in 720p digital format. Far superior to the analog versions floating around. Our local MeTV affiliate runs 12 O'Clock High 6 mornings a week at 4 a.m. and they broadcast in 720p, the picture is awesome and the audio is much better, too.

  • @918ramrod That is where I am taping them from and uploading the episodes. They just completed season one. But I am putting 4 episodes on a DVD which does lessen the quality, but hey, these are re-runs. I think the quality was never very good with this series, to be honest, or they woujld release them on DVD as the owners have released so many other old television shows. For some reason, this series was never put out. Yet, series as old as the Untouchables and Perry Mason, and Hitchcock(1955)

  • Hi all! I have now about 16 season one episodes taped of 12 O'Clock High. I have to say, the shows are still good. Well done scripts, you know? I hope to upload as I am able. Any requests?

  • @gmt3010 The Invaders lasted a season and a half (Jan. 1967 to April 1968) 41 episodes. Ironically, The Invaders was a mid-season replacement for 12 O'Clock High. Aliens that looked like humans and some had a crooked pinky finger. Cool show, the full run is out on dvd available at amazon.com and other places.

  • @918ramrod : No, this is Wesson...he did the earlier QM shows like 12 O'Clock High, The Fugitive, The New Breed and The Invaders. Simms's first show for QM was The FBI.

  • @VonWenk - No, Dominic Frontiere scored and arranged all the music for 12 O'Clock High. The theme was written in 1964. However, the first Star Trek pilot was produced in 1964 but was not used until 1966. I don't know if there was an early pilot for 12 O'Clock High. Did Alexander Courage borrow from Frontiere? Possibly. I've always believed that and it didn't seem to be a big deal to Frontiere since there was no plagiarism suit that I know of. They may have been friends.

  • I enjoy watching Lloyd Bochner when he appears on these shows. I recall him appearing in a great episode of Voyage to the bottom of the sea and an equally great episode of the old Boris Karloff thriller tv show. Thank you for posting .
