Hate to tell you, but croc rank second, for the same reason hippo ranks # 1. I have a PH liscence in 3 countries in Southern Africa, and have spent alot of time around them all. Crocs take alot of people near water while tending to their daily duties. Not nescessarily just hunters.

If you wrestle one to death then you deserve the win but to kill an animal like this especially since their land to roam is getting smaller and smaller is like putting you in a jail cell and giving you a chance to run from the fire.

@cdavis2544 ive heard that the most dangerous is actually the bufflo, killing more people than any other of the big five.

At night Lions would be the most deadly to hunt. During the day Elephant would probably be the most deadly (In my opinion).
Also why dont they include Giraffes, Hippos and Crocodiles. There are so many other large animals in Africa, It should be called the big 8 not the big 5.

@DrShakalu619 No its the mosquito. After that Hippos are responsible for the most human fatalities in Africa. I would agree buffalo might be the most dangerous to hunt.

The animals view the truck as just another big animal and largely ignore it. We were under strict instructions to stay seated (young children were also not allowed). Standing up could separate us from the truck in the eyes of the animals and therefore be dangerous. We had an elephant aggressively approach us at one point and everyone was instructed to stay VERY still.
