  • Are you kidding me... leaving the soldering iron in the holder so you use two hands to hold the wire and solder :O, why didn't I ever think of this! Just seeing that has made me very happy to have watched this video!

  • a similar take on tinning the wire without having to preheat the wire and potentially melting the wire housing would be to dip the wire end or add a small amount of flux to the wire, add a drop of solder to the tip of the iron and you'd just need to touch the melted solder to the wire, it will instantly tin the wire with less heat.

  • I normally tin the wire by holding the solder and iron, with the wire in my helping hands. I think Ill use your method from now on, because with mine its very easy to be too heavy handed and split up multicore strands by accident, thanks!
