  • Kai kai kai kai kai Oron Baba... Where did you dig this from? My good God, this is vintage highlife from the late Chief Stephen Osita Osedebe... Just listen to lead that guitarist... One Pound No Balance. Oh this is so sweet to the ear... God bless you Oron Baba... You have made my day... Pls if you can dig up any live shows of Eddie Okonta, Zeal Onyia, Eric Akaeze & his Azagas... and Rex Lawson please do us this favour... Cheers

  • @bellemskey Ha... Some of those your requests might be difficult to damn near impossible to fulfill! (Rex Lawson live footage? For where!)

    We'll see, though...

  • @oronbaba Hahaha you make me laugh. I know its difficult to find live footage for Rex, but i know say no how no how, NTA to get archive on Rex, because he died in '71 and TV coverage had already grown by then. As for the Eddie Okonta and the others i rememeber watching them on TV in the 80s and 90s. And with the posts i see you posting here, i beliv your records of history is powerful, like Ur post on Oriental brothers and Fela. Abeg try your best my brother. God bless U.

  • @bellemskey NTA? Archive ke? Abeg... Most NTA stations have either erased or thrown away all of their tapes from the 1970s and 80s. If you sabi the kain waka wey I take find even these small ones wey I dey upload here, you go pity me!

Still: Never say never! I continue to search and hopefully I'll find some of that stuff soon...

  • Great video...lots of nostalgia. Thanks Oronbaba.

I am curious if anyone knows or recognises the members of his band. I cannot help but wonder if the man on trombone/background vocals (behind) Osadebe is the one and only Eddy Okonta. Do let me know.
