@rtselby - Please take a lesson in logic before posting and throwing insults at people. Based on YOUR comment, since it's the largest organism in the world, that MAKES it the largest Sequoia tree.

when I jumped the fence and tried to get a pic of me standing next to it I was tackled by men dressed up like trees and then they tasered my anus :(

yeah...the largest organism (single entity) is either a fungus or a stand of quaking aspen...size changes yearly, so it's a push and pull contest...sequoia are non less beautiful because of that...

it is the biggest but not the tallest
-
@Blue3Devil thats because mariposa grove in yosemite gives their trees hormones and steroids lol

Actually as i know the largest living organism (by biomass) is the Pando in the USA. It's said to be 60-80000 years old and weights more than 6000 tonns, and covers many acres. I think this beats the sequoias :D. These trees are awsome anyway. It would be nice to see one in real life. Unfortunatelly here in hungary they grow "only" 40 meters tall.

@Blue3Devil Look up Sequoiadendron on wikipedia. Scroll down to the list of "Largest Trees". You'll see General Sherman at the top spot. The largest tree from Mariposa Grove is the Washington tree at #18.
I'd paste the link directly on here, but I keep getting a posting error.
