Art is still art, regardless of how it is produced. I am inclined to believe that his camera is broken and that he has learned to take advantage of the bug(feature) to create images.

I saw the flickr pictures, I had a canon a710 that took pictures distorted after I dropped it on its extended lens. Really similar to this, I had to fart with the settings to get it to work. I have an album from sxsw 2009 I took with this camera on my facebook page. I lost that camera in the pit at nine inch nails at bonnaroo and it was pretty irreplacable.

This whole "broken camera" bit is phony. You can feed any digital camera through a electronic filter to add a desired effect in "real time" and this is quit easy to do.

The only thing going on here is a clever scam.
