Capturing clouds over Waikoloa, Hawaii 2012

Testing my Sony Nex 6 with both the 50mm f/1.8 and 16-50mm power zoom lenses.

Watching the Waikoloa from the Kohala Mountain road above Waimea, Hawaii. Footage was filmed 1080p 60fps then rendered 800% faster than real time. No color adjusting or sharpening applied. It was an extremely windy day. My tripod was not able to sit still. Had to motion stabilize the footage on After effects.

One last. Gariz half cases are so incredibly sexy. Bought one for my self as a Christmas gift.

Most importantly, they fixed the over heating issue of longer video filming on nex 6.

Both nex 5n and nex 7 suffered on this. During filming performance videos at milongas, I would get stuck sometimes 15min, sometimes 10, even 8 minutes. Ridiculous. Nex 6 is over that issue.

Wifi is cool. I take pix send it to my iPhone/iPad quickly edit on snapseed app and post sometimes. The brand new time lapse app at Sony's play memories website also sounds nice.

These are the differences. I'm satisfied.

Sony doing very well on their LCD screen and EVFs. Very high resolution on both. I use the EVF only in extreme bright environments. Maybe because I like tilting the LCD.

New hybrid focusing on nex 6 is real nice.

Low light question you have... Camera doing good job with this new hybrid focusing. But low light needs fast lenses. I have both the 50mm f/1.8 (highly recommending) and the new 35mm f/1.8 (will test it this week). Hybrid focus does not have the firmware update for 50mm yet.

I'm sorry but I have to bother with a few stupid questions since I'm still in doubt between the NEX-7 and the NEX-6 ;-)

Did you also test your new baby with Tango shoots in the dark? And how do you like the EVF? Anything else you don't like?
