Photoshop Tutorial - Color Lines or Line Art

Here's a quick tutorial for anyone that is wondering how to easily color lines in Photoshop. There are many ways to do this same thing, but this is the easiest method I've figured out. I also show you how to record it as an action so you can save some time. As an illustrator I use this almost daily.

I follow the instructions, but when I inverse everything turns black, is there a reason why this happens?
