I'm not Canadian, but I like hockey and I love the song. CBC are a bunch of idiots. People might complain about the new CTV adaptation, but at least they've kept it alive.

Yes, it was saved. The CBC was dicking the song's writer around. But if you know anything about how the CBC likes to dick around the creators that supply it with content you wouldn't be surprised. (They're a government agency after all... Not a business.)

More power to CTV for making a smart move and helping out the song's creator buy purchasing the rights for a good price (a deal she was always willing to make with CBC).
