I worked in this field for 15 years and totally agree with you. Some parents sometimes feel intimidated with a deaf professional and interpreter in same room with their deaf child or deaf adult son/daughter but it empowers the deaf person!

@eenavratil Thanks for your comment. Exactly - it is all about empowerment and balancing things out in the therapy room. Looks like more and more Deaf people are beginning to realize they don't have to continue to put themselves in oppressive situations.

This is for a Deaf child not for the parent s sake whether they are Deaf or Hearing that is what I mean by this attitude of mine.
I like Harlen Lane s quote that is so fit into this blog of yours. I absoultely agree with you all the way.
