I am a Catholic and have never been taught that the Blessed Virgin Mary is to be worshipped. I venerate and honour my Blessed Mother, I do not worship her. Luke 1:28 states: "... yes, from now on all generations will call me blessed". Why don't you call her blessed?

After reading the verse you provided, I see it says...

And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

Yes, Mary is blessed among women. Mary is not your blessed mother. Show the scripture where it states that Mary is my and your blessed mother.

"Do you not see what they are doing in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? The children gather wood, the fathers light the fire, and the women knead the dough and make cakes of bread for the Queen of Heaven. They pour out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger." (Jer 7:17-18)

Those verses are eerily reminiscent of the Roman Catholic service.

Mary is not the Mother of God, or else she would been there in the beginning, even before God.

God is the creator of Mary. She was merely an instrument used to fulfill prophecy.

The only thing special about her, is that she had a unique experience that no other woman will ever have, because we have no need for Jesus to duplicate His life and what He did on the Cross.

Knew she needed a savior: "And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my saviour." (Luke 1:47) So she wasn't Holy.

@heroslyfe: How about "God sent his Son, born of a woman" Gal 4:4? In John 8:58 Jesus says "before Abraham came to be, I AM" clearly identifying Himself with God. In John 19:26 " Jesus saw His mother". This question was also delt with in 431 at the council of Ephesus where the Bishops of the entire church ruled that Mary could be called the Mother of God. So you're arguing against over 1500 years of Christian teaching.

@PZMedic Yes sir. The mother of HER Lord. Do you get it? And the word LORD and GOD are two different things in this context. Simply because otherwise, saying The Lord my God in the same sentence--which we always do--would be redundant.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. According to THY word. Not mine. And Yeshua is the WORD made flesh

If JESUS is our BROTHER, for sure, Virgin Maria is OUR MOTHER and Our Lady. She is the WOMAN of APOCALYPSE 12, chased by the dragon in this world, She is the CHOSEN WOMAN to STEP ON the EVIL ANGEL HEAD. Eva FAILED as a mankind mother but MARIA not. Santa Maria DESERVED to be GOD SON MOTHER and Our Lady. In FATIMA Our Lady said that JESUS wanted to INSTALL in this world HER HEART DEVOTION to HELP JESUS to SAVE MEN SOULS. The VIRGIN MARY is the GOD CHOSEN WOMAN to fight the DRAGON in this world. For sure theres no other name ABOVE JESUS CHRIST but this fact DOESNT cancel the ANGELS and the VIRGIN COOPERATION and COORDINATED INTERVENTION from the PARADISE. Jesus ACCEPTS the LOVE of mankind around HIS MOTHER. Very FAR FROM IT, in fact JESUS becomes SAD when some GROUPS inteligently SLIGHT the VIRGIN AID and MOTHER INFLUENCE over her SON. JESUS works NOT ALONE in PARADISE. He WORKS with SOLDIERS and a MOTHER.
