The rebellion in Wales takes a much more dramatic turn as Owain and his men launch the first of a series of major battles against the English forces - all of which they win dramatically despite being heavily outnumbered, thanks to their tactics and the renowned skills of the Welsh with the longbow. This moves from being an annoying rebellion in the western flank of Britain to creating a mood of panic and urgency in England. Henry launches a series of revenge attacks on Wales to try and get the Welsh to turn over Glyndwr, without success

  • A Professional presentation thanks to the BBC

  • Owain Glyndwr's life. What a great movie would be! Of course for the authenticity of it, it should be made in Welsh language. One of the greatest and most epic historical movies of all times!

  • Or a movie about Llewellen ap Gryffudd. That would also be cool. Depressing, but cool.

  • That's some very wicked longbowmen there!

  • @SpiritBearTotem Nice to know that someone knows their history. Indeed it was the Welsh longbow men from Gwent who won the day at Agincourt and may the English never forget it!

  • everyone knows its the welsh longbow. just ask my direct ancestor sir roger vaughn, he would have given that guy what he ordered his troops to do at the end of the battle of agincourt, the middle finger( which as we all know that those cheese eatin surrender monkeys had threatened to take and give bounty for)

  • im named after our hero :P

  • Great video!!! By the way, there is some jackass on youtube who believes that the Welsh didn't invent the longbow. I'm sure he's wrong. His video is 'Medieval arrows piercing armor' and his name is 'bigbowbrum'. He is a pompous asshole who gets annoyed when anyone disagrees with him. CYMRU!!!

  • I really would like to see a film being made about this, they made one for william wallace why not make one for glyndwr !

  • @veroooom

No, it's the battle of Hyddgen which was fought earlier. Glyndwr beat 1500 men with a force of around 400 men. The battle of Pilleth occured the following year when Glyndwr defeated Edmund Mortimer's army of 2000 men.
