The lyrics from the song We Taking over were initially created by Akon, T.I, Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman and lil Wayne to establish that a new group of artistes were now taking over the Hip hop & RnB World and that they were in fact taking over One city at a time.

This is similar to what is currently happening in Sri Lanka as well. We see at the start that a new force has entered into power with Army Commander Sarath Fonseka and Mahinda Rajapaksa shown in the first scene.

The scenes of the armed forces show exactly how strong our military is. It portrays a force strong enough to tackle the most ruthless terrorist organisation in the world and regain almost 100% of rebel-held territory. While we all take great pride in our armed forces and the service they provide us, the video also reminds us of the huge amounts of money spent on weapons and ammunition, not to mention the human cost in the loss of lives.

The scene of Mahinda getting off a Sri Lankan Airlines plane (he probably doesnt fly Mihin either!) and meeting with the Chinese PM aim to show our current geo-political situation, which essentially has moved away from Western and other democracies and more towards those such as China due to strong trade relations. China also happens to be one of our largest current arms donors.

Prabhakarans scenes show that we were not fighting a mere terrorist. Prabhakaran had put together a force strong enough to scare out the Indian forces from Sri Lanka in the late 80s, assassinate Presidents and create situations of chaos and terror. While it has been found that Prabhakaran and the LTTE too had a vast range of armour and ammunition it must not be forgotten that Prabhakaran and the LTTE used their equipment sparingly compared to the numerous Child Soldiers and brain washed suicide bombers whose lives were worth losing in the eyes of this self proclaimed Tiger.

Mervin Silvas part in the video represents the sad situation Sri Lankan politics is in. To those who dont know Mervin, he is an absolute waste of life and is of absolutely of no use to the public whatsoever. He has assaulted individuals in various ways and drives around in a Porsche Cayenne which he seems so out of place in. He is also accused of all sorts of other serious crimes. The lyrics from the song go well with him so listen carefully.




Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is Mahinda Rajapakas brother and Defence Secretary and is the last star of this video. The lyrics from the song go well with him so listen carefully. Gotabhaya is known as a key player when it comes to the current military offensive. He is also known for openly threatening journalists on television, not showing much remorse towards the deaths of journalists and lastly accusing anyone who does not support the government of being a traitor.

The aim of this video is to show the general public what is potentially in store for Sri Lanka which is:
A large, strong but expensive military that will hopefully seek out the main terrorist and end the war to then build on peace.

A losing terrorist who brought nothing but suffering to everyone directly affected by war and most others who werent.




The president with the most powers in the world to rule over a single democratic country. A president of another large and corrupt government with poor international relations, high inflation and a massive account deficit due to the war, mismanagement and corruption.

However citizens of Sri Lanka hope that the end of the war will somehow bring about peace, harmony and economic stability to everyone. People hope that the corruption will curb and politicians will start doing their jobs instead of accumulating vast personal wealth while the rest find it hard to live on what they earn. People hope that human rights such as the freedom of speech will once again be something which does not need to be worried about and which you surely will not be kidnapped, arrested or murdered for. Basically hope to an end of the entire country situation and hope for change in the future.
