Congratulations to US President for winning the Nobel Peace Prize. I had to think about this one to agree that he was a good entry.

  • Obama is still in Afgahnistan...should we be their? do we deserve to be their? what does it matter if we are there alone or with allies?

we have taken a complete 180 turn? no, we have a new president and other countries like him because he is different but not enough time has passed to be able to say that he has actually changed anything! We have moral authority? Wow i dont know about you but i look at the US and I see a lot of corrupt morals.i see people that only stand for themselves

  • I have to respond to this one. First Obama inherited a few wars. Second 8 years of non diplomacy during the Bush years has made us vulnerable and unpopular everywhere and that is what creates terrorists. Third we have a moral obligation to help Afghanistan the last time we abandoned it the Taliban and Al Queda grew up to bomb us in the same place 10 years after each other.

  • 30,000 more troop in Afghanistan, there's still tortures to terrorists in other countries, we continue to bomb in multiple countries, Yemen, Somali, Pakistan.

He's so much like bush but has even a more hidden agenda than bush. Zero transparency is Obama's and Bush's major disappointments.

  • lol; I didn't know there was a Nobel Peace Prize for reading a teleprompter.

  • No it's not that I don't disagree with you he hasn't done much. But a complete reversal on US Diplomacy has done a great deal to repair our reputation abroad does it deserve to get a nobel prize? Well I guess it's up to the nobel committee.

  • Yeah, it's not like I don't like the guy, I just think it's crazy that there are so few important public figures in our day and age that Obama can win the Nobel Prize for doing so little, compared to how much others have done in the past to receive it. I know he didn't ask for it, nobody asks for the Nobel Peace Prize, but that's where I'm coming from and I'm glad you understand that. I was afraid I'd get a lot of negative responses, but I'm glad to see one that gets what I'm saying.

  • Also I knew this criticism was going to come like it did when I said the same thing to Al Gore and the IGPCC. But in this I have to agree he wasn't as deserving as others but again it's not his choice.

  • I kind of have to agree with you there but I have to say that this was awarded to him he didn't choose to be awarded this he didn't nominate himself. It was done by an international body that is independent of anything in the US. I even had my doubts when I heard it but there have been other nominees that haven't have substantiation before and there more deserving and more willing but again this wasn't his call. I know it has some merit to reverse the bush years but I agree with you in some ways

  • so Obama deserves the NPP because he put a happy face on the war machine. Nice.

I think your right... doesn't matter if people are dying in wars... as long as people like our new rhetoric that's the important thing.

  • If Sarah Palin had won the NPP, the haters would have loved it, but because it's Obama it sucks... I say "fuck you haters"...
