As we approach the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist fire on March 25, 2011, Ai-Jen Poo, Director of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, discusses the importance of protecting and not marginalizing our domestic workers today.
On March 25, 1911, 146 workers were killed - most were young immigrant women who jumped to their deaths from the 10-story Triangle Shirtwaist factory to escape the fire because they were locked inside.
