Filmed in the Top End of Northern Territory of Australia. In this part 5 of this series you will see. Three very young Jabiru ( Black Necked Stork ) Ephippiorhynchus asiaticus ) birds, they have not developed their colours yet. It is not really common to see a cluster of young Jabirus together. We have shared this video with you. This video is a part of a wildlife series that I will add to as I collect the footages.

Residing mostly around wetland areas and preying on fish as a main diet, the very tall, long legged stork (as referred by the Americans), are very territorial of their feeding grounds and defend it fiecely. Also known as the Jabiru, this large bird is distributed mainly around southern and South East Asia, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and locations around north Australia.

For the Anula and Mara Aboriginal clans, the Jabiru is one of the totem symbols and (Australian traditional owners) consider the meat of the Jabiru to be a taboo as it is said that if eaten by a pregnant woman it would cause the death of the mother. For Aboriginal people dreamtime legend has it that the long bill of the Jabiru is caused by a spear going through it's head.
