Our tour through South Africa showed us the best and worst this country has to offer. During a performance at the Grahamstown festival robbers took our valuables that were laying behind the scenes: a camera, a cell phone, a jacket, some pocket money and a pair of shoes. It was at the beginning of the festival, we were fighting to get an audience, Benno had become sick, and now we were robbed from our belongings. The spirit of the three of us was near freezing point.

Right after the performance, we were going to meet the members of the Masakheke Choir, whom we were going to perform with the next day (at the video, they are singing the chorus version of the famous traditional Shosholoza). After the police report was written, we were brought to their township. It turned out that they had planned to show us their abilities by giving a performance in the small house of one of the choir members.

We were down and out, but as soon as the choir started singing, the spell of music started to do its work. We were packed together with the chamber, but this made it all the more impressive. Our hearts were warmed and our spirit went up sky high. What a great experience. Fuck the robbers, viva South Africa!
