Ben Nye Makeup Review

So, if I can't do tutorials, I can still do reviews, right?

I just want to reiterate that I do like MAC products. I *love* a lot of their products. I just think that they keep repeating the same colors, they launch WAY too many Limited Editions, and I feel like people have gotten a little MAC obsessed. (Hey, I used to be that way too!) But there are plenty of other cheaper options out there that are just as good as MAC.

Ben Nye makes INCREDIBLE Makeup, and has been doing so since 1967. Their original focus was on Theatrical makeup, but they've since developed products that anyone, anywhere can use. I LOVE Ben Nye and use their products daily. (Or at least every day that I wear makeup!)

Also, I ran out of time before I got to mention the Ben Nye Final Seal. It's kind of like Benefit's She-Lac, but infinitely better. It's a minty scented liquid sealant that you spritz on after you've completed your makeup. It works FABULOUSLY. I don't use it every time I put on makeup, but for special occasions--or for times that you might be worried about your makeup fading/smearing/smudging (like if you get a little sweaty)--it's fantastic. There's no icky sticky feeling or residue...it just seals your makeup and makes it last *all day*. I think it's supposed to be somewhat sweat resistant, too. I highly recommend it, and one of the small bottles will last a LONG time.

I'm more than likely going to continue do to a few videos of this sort, because I do have a bit of a makeup obsession. I hope that one day I'll actually be able to make a tutorial, but for right now I guess I'll focus more on product reviews. (I need to set up different playlists within my channel, I think.)

It's tough. There are plenty of days that I go without makeup at all, but when I do decide to wear it, I usually try to put it on during my son's naptime, and my daughter goes back and forth in between watching me and watching Spongebob.

Yay! Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way. Like I said, I do love some (okay, a LOT) of their stuff, but it's just gotten to the point that I feel exhausted trying to keep up with what they're releasing when. If they'd chill out with all the "New" and "LE" stuff and just do a few big promos a year with really new, unique items I think it'd be SO much better.

I'm actually trying to buy Ben Nye foundation right now, but am unsure which color to get (I'm looking at their creme formula). I am ghostly pale and was going to be Geisha, but thought maybe Fairest or Porcelain was paler. Does anyone know? I could really use your help.

i am an avid mac makeup junkee, but lately i've been branching out to other companies...my hubby just purchased the ben nye lumiere as well as the wheel...hope it's as good as you and other youtubers say. i also took people's advice with the makeup palettes [88,120 etc.] and my eyes have been swollen for some time now because of some mixture in the products. anyway, thanks for such a great review...decided to subscribe....GOD bless you, luv.

You have just proven my point of why I have never been in favor of MAC products - The Price Is Outrageous!! I Have bought a couple of items from them but I could never bring myself to purchase a foundation product because it was so EXPENSIVE! I am however in LOVE with their Smolder eyeliner! your makeup is awesome! and you actually know how to put it on (i don't...at least not with all the cool brushes and stuff! plus i have strange eye shape and my lashes grow downward asian style!!) i think it would be fun to hang out with you and have you do my makeup!! haha! yeah, i love the IDEA of MAC makeup, but not the price and the stigma of it. some ppl i know are snobs about it, if its not by MAC it might as well be crap in their eyes. psshhtt....whatever!!
