On October 8, 2010, TracFone Wireless and the Education Innovation Laboratory at Harvard University (EdLabs) announced the Oklahoma City Public Schools debut of The Million, an innovative, award-winning incentive program that rewards sixth and seventh graders with free cell phones in exchange for academic achievement.

  • This is awesome! TracFone is doing wonderful things. They're making their minutes cheap enough for common folk to afford (Straight Talk plan) AND they're giving kids incentives to read! This is a great program - very impressive!

  • This is wonderful! I am so impressed with what TracFone is trying to do. After the 300 minutes and texts, they can earn more by reading! Eventually, their parents could start buying the minutes as well...

    This is such a cool progam which is definitely going to improve the readng level of many of these kids.
