My first big gig as a comedian was on the Ron & Ron Morning Radio Show and it still seems like a surreal experience to this day. I performed the song parody in front of a couple hundred troops from MacDill Air Force Base, a convention of Strippers from the Lap Dance Capital of the world, Tampa Bay, and a thousand slackers who phoned in sick that Friday Morning so they could see their favorite radio show in person. Also performing that day was a 35 year old Eddie Munster (Butch Patrick) in full werewolf costume, and disco king K.C. and the Sunshine Factory. I got to do shots at five-thirty in the morning with both of them at an Ybor City bar and that seemed to set the stage for the Circus-like, Apocalypse Now atmosphere for the next four hours. The shots pretty well destroyed my voice but gave me the NO FEAR attitude I needed for the song. The video was lost in the flood but we salvaged a copy of the audio from the show and did some digital tricks with it. The song also got a lot of airplay on WBAB in New York, Washington WADC, etc.
