I appreciate all of your comments. My father was a man who loved the game of Boxing and also believed wholeheartedly in the importance of being a champion outside as well as inside the ring. I miss him but I know in the hearts of many he lives on.... Floyd Patterson, II

Floyd Patterson was robbed by Jimmy Ellis. Floyd broke Ellis's nose and knocked him down in the 14th round. Floyd was also robbed by Jerry Quarry. He won the most rounds, but the points system gave the fight to Quarry. Only Liston and Ali really beat Floyd with the exception of the fluke with Johansson and close loss to Maxim.

Very underated fighter. He was a light heavyweight fighting heavyweights. 7 of his 8 losses were to guys who outweighed him by 10-20 pounds. His only loss to a guy his weight was a close decsion to a young Jerry Qaury at 32 years old.
