There could be no anti-semitism without semitism. If it was just the Germans and Eastern Europeans who had "persecuted" the poor jews, then one could possibly rationalize that these certain Europeans nations acted with extreme prejudice in their discriminatory behavior toward the jew; however we find this a common theme throughout the 3000 year wanderings of the jewish people, from Egyptian to Persian, Greek to Roman, Arab to Indian its been the same reaction to these people.
