Bolivian tunes for Cassye : )

The first two songs are originally panpipe melodies, the third one is usually sung with charango accompaniment and it is called "Martita, Margarita" (the text starts with "Taki siway, tunay siway" or "Let's party, let's dance" - if i remember correctly, if anyone speaks Quechua, please correct me).
I learnt these songs on panpipes in the autumn of 2004 in Henry Stobart's Andean band at Royal Holloway. This is my version played on a home-made kaval, i was trying to get more of an Andean sound out of it, but there are obvious limits to my efforts. :) anyway i hope it is still enjoyable.

I was in Henry's 08 class !

I liked Martita, Margarita but Taki siway was my favorite song. I don't know if you learnt that one. I thought you got a very good sound out of the instrument and I'm very impressed that you made it yourself. I hope you're still playing.

if I remember well those two are the same song, no? :) the lyrics start with "Taki siway, tunay siway" and the refrain ends with "Martita, Margarita" - but maybe my memory is betraying me. Also, Henry probably knows 1000s of songs that features themes very similar to these :) Good man! The instrument is easy to make - made one for a friend of mine in London as well, i can send you a link to website with instructions if you are interested. best!
