Vid about the restoration of my fathers 1968 Land Rover Series II A, this is the first car I have driven officially. We did these things: Changed the brake drums, pads, pistons & overhauled the brake cylinder, installed a military edition transmission, changed all the electrical work that involves the engine (except the distributor), welded some rust in the floorboards & painted the exterior matte black and the dashboard and firewall silver, we cut the rear door down to make it fit the rest of the car after we unbolted the roof and the window frames on the front doors, it all was done in a matter of about 100 work hours. All work was done by me and my dad. (mostly me, 'cause my dad slept till 2 pm.) :)

  • Wow! Nice job on the Landy. Good sheen on the paintwork considering you said it was a matte finish

  • @MickeyXR Thanks.:)

Yeah, in the sun the paint really gets a little shine to it.:)

  • This is a great vehicle, Erling! You have brought it back to great condition!! Happy motoring in the New Year! :) Jack
