Me playing "I don't trust myself" by John Mayer. Gear used - 1999 Fender Strat into A Dunlop Crybaby Wah, Boss Comp/Sustainer, Keeley Modded Boss Blues Driver, Elecro-Harmonix Small Stone Phaser, and finally into a clean Fender 4X10 Blues DeVille (Not Hot Rod) (Also run to a 2X12 cab w/ Celestion Greenbacks to milk down the output and to drive the tubes more)... Song gets boring till the solo... Bear with me

  • Needs a lot of work. It wz ok to say the most.

  • @Guitarman2k104life thanks for checking it out. Yeah, that was almost 4 years ago when I recorded that, so I've gotten much better. I've never been much for playing along with a recording as much as I am playing in a real band... But thanks for watching anyway.

  • why did it have to end ?

  • Ha, unfortunatly the camera I used had limited space on it... Check out some of my more-recent videos for better sound and video quality. The playing has improved slightly as well...

  • @dnnysrock - Yeah, the keely bd is really good. Got one a few years ago, and it's never disappointed. I don't think he (mayer) uses it all the time, but it's pretty much the perfect tone for a majority of his solos (belief, bold as love, anything with the trio). Get one. And then get a set of Klein s5 pickups - neck pick up makes the mayer tone happen every time.

  • 3:26 till 3:28 best part of the solo. great four bending man ;-) you felt it.

  • is the keely bd that goood for mayer tones? is it on all the time?

  • Can someone help me out with the main riff? i have most of it down except for after the hammer-ons on the fourth and fifth frets. How does it go after that? The recording is insanely fast in that part and i cant get the right notes. All tutorials seem to be wrong.

  • veryy good!

  • your groove is pretty wack..

  • nice sound
