I have a HQ copy of this on my ipod and I watch it a lot. Julian can't hear himself sing so he says something about the mic and "I can't fuckin hear anything" and a little later it's still not right so he says "fuck!" towards whoever is handling the sound. I don't think it's an "act" or some "character" he's portraying like someone said. I think he was just frustrated. Also, when Nick screwed up a little you can see Fab smirking about it, which is another hilarious subtlety in this performance.
