@pyrrho314 - oh and not just in philosophy... in science theories... in all sorts... make names and labels more descriptive of what is being said. Then give credit to the original person who came up with the idea and anyone who improved the idea. So that people still get credit for there work. This would mean the name would not need to be there name or some silly creative name. And actually be better for all learning. :-) But this been said... Focus on the message, not the name. :-)

@pyrrho314 - Basically what am saying is people don't really put enough though in to the names of things. In programming I use to get told off for this sometimes. We need to keep things well aware in programming so anyone can read the name and know what to expect, rather then go through it all and figure it all out from the beginning. So what am saying is better to understand the subject. Why not create a website which states about changing labels and gives credit to the original creator?

@pyrrho314 I think you focus to much on the names, and not enough on the philosophy. I do agree that the names should be better to help learning and help people better get to understand philosophies they think they would like or to help a student in philosophy get a good grasp of the philosophy so he has bit of a running start before he goes in to the philosophy. So I do agree the names do need changing, but same in science, same in lot of things the labels are crap. So it's not just philosophy!

Thanks very much for this reply. I'll get back to you with a video as soon as I can.
one man's 'utility' can be another's execution. & survival isn't useful if you really want to die.

@TWITfromURANUS : when a group of people get together the only way to deal with that is to find what the people involve actually think is more or less useful. Often, people will agree on some set of useful cations, miraculously, or perhaps through common interests and frames of reference.

"social philosophy" Philosophy is never social, always individualistic.

@outsidemendham : "social philosophy" is the philosophy an individual has about society and probably their role in it.
