@stratocasterfan94 I partly agree with you, but sometimes a tab can be useful just to gain time and learn faster. What shouldn't be done however is to rely on tabs all the time and to stick to them. There's no point to learning solos by heart, so I mostly agree with you

Learning by ear will make you into a much better musician. Also, in the case you can't find sheet music or tabs, you always have something else to depend on.
I learnt Little Wing, Bold as Love, Voodoo Child (Slight Return), Hey Joe, All Along the Watchtower, The Wind Cries Mary etc by ear, and it feels a whole lot better than having learnt them off tabs.

dude that lick didn't sound too hendrix when he played it fast. it sounded alot more like jimi's style when he slowed it down tho

@danslatente If you play by ear you can add your style but u cant do this by tabs :D

learing by ear is better than learing by tabs. u will get it one day.professional guitarist dont use tabs and their ear are very sharp

that is correct. I try to learn everything by ear. Beside the fact that it makes you better, you will have more satisfaction out of figuring something out yourself
