The video demonstrates a shared virtual environment, where two parties can collaborate on virtual construction tasks. The OpenGL 3D graphics are streamed from the server to the client using an adaptive video codec in real-time. Clients are running standard H.323 software. This work is a cooperation of Thies Pfeiffer, Matthias Weber, and Bernhard Jung. Our genuine contribution is the video and audio interface using open source components (openh323, now opalvoip/h323plus). The virtual construction application has been developed within the SFB 360 (http://www.techfak.uni-bielefeld.de/ags/wbski/cody/VirtualConstructor.html). This work has been presented at the Theory and Practice of Computer Graphics 2005 at Canterbury, England.
