    By the time you reach the center, you will have enough momentum to reach the other side - or reach the same distance from the center as you started with. This assumes no drag. If there were drag, you would fall back and forth, crossing the center with every pass; reaching a lower height (distance from the center) with every pass and eventually settle in the center.
