US 1 Electric Trucking, manufactured by TYCO in the mid-1980s. Based on TYCO's slot racers, it featured accessories that allowed operation rather than just going in circles. The trucks would activate the stations by flipping levers or using their drive wheels to turn a shaft; the accessories would drop loads of "gravel" or "pipe" into the truck, or mate/demate trailers, or send a tiny plane whizzing around. When I was a little kid, this was my second-favorite toy (after LEGO, of course!)

  • I dream of someday owning this set in its entirety with all the other cityscapes, and being able to set it up in a place where my cat can't bat around and lose the trucks, pipes, gravel, and other accessories.

  • @jmn120176 I don't worry about the cats so much as my niece, who insists on refilling the gravel bin but is too clumsy to actually do it :/

  • I asked for one of these for Christmas in 83-84, but my parents said they never heard of it, and I kept asking for a few years after for it, same thing they never heard of it. Should I send a link of this video to them to see if they would get it for me now? :)

  • @Broggy69 Actually, you can still find them on eBay!

  • Wow, brings back some memories. I got this for christmas back in '82 I think it was, maybe '83. Everytime I had spending money, my dad would drive me down to the hobby shop and I would pick up a few more of the loading station sets.

  • Oh, and I'm a girl :)

  • My Dad's wife surprised me by unearthing this from basement after 25 years of storage. The memories came back immediately! This is one of the coolest toys I've ever seen, and mine still works perfectly after all these years. Just got the log bulldozer for Christmas, and thanks to your video I have a few other sets on my list. Great video!
